CAN'T HEAR NOTHING BUT THE MUSIC PT 8

I wrote about this last week and here it is, atlast, the link to my special "Summer Breeze" mix. I selected the tracks and my homie Jobo mixed'em and took care of the cover - lol. Over 90 minutes of great music. Download it NOW. You need some good tunes to go with the sunshine... Perfect for your barbecues and pool parties, your beach chair naps and your friendly ping pong tournaments. Shout outs to Geneva's Green Label.

SMOOTH CRIMINAL - R I P

I didn't really want to blog about any of this but I rewatched this funny spoof below and just have to share it with you. But before we laugh, here's a little word or 2: OK MJ's dead.... and? To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised he made it this long. Let's not forget, this guy went from genious to mystic to being A FREAK!! Great voice, great music, great at promoting but the guy was crazy. He was over 300 million$ in depth, touched little kids and left our planet a looooong time ago. Now that I got that out my system... I hope you understand french because this video below is very funny.

JAY-Z D.O.A.

MARK ANGELIL - OPERA

I'm back on my blog game bitcheeeeeees! I had to take a break from my computer. I went to St. Tropez with Wifey and cruised around the frensch coast, chilled on the beach, ate seafood, took my afternoon naps, got bit by jellyfish, carried my lady's shopping bags you know, tough life.... I'm reloading with my homie's new video. Check it out

PERSPECTIVE

If you're having trouble keeping things in perspective, you might wanna look at these comparisons. This is really facinating. Antares is the 15th brightest star in the sky. It is more than a 1000 light years away. Now how big are you? How big are the things that upset you day to day? What's really important?...

PAPARAPAPARAPAPA RAPA E BOOM!!

As you may know, I was in Belgium with my Baseball crew last week and we got beat baaaaad! (click here for photo album) We did however beat the Portuguese team 21 to 20 thanks to yours truly. Unfortunately, the C.E.B. (Confederation of European Baseball) decided to disqualify our team due to "Article 26d2" of the competition rules and not give us the win. Politely put, " they let us compete "out of competition" because we only had 11 players in our roster instead of a minimum of 12. I still feel that they could've kept up our stats and box scores and give us the official win for the books but oh well. We did however come back with our Indians Anthem and that's something they can never take away from us. We sang and danced to that song 435 times a day, on and off the field. We really created a movement with the whole "Paparapa papapa pa papa pa e boom" over there!!! We even had little kids come up to us and ask us to do the "rapapapa dance" for them after and during games. It all started with one of our latin players singing out loud with his ipod on before a game. I heard it and started imitating him not knowing what he was trying to sing... then another one started and so on. Then the organisation's music man played it inbetween innings after hearing us sing it and we all went nuts. Just imagine 11 retarded basball freaks singing all at once at the top of their lungs in the middle of a game-LOL!!! From then on, it just stuck, we were rockin it in our bus, at the hotel, in supermarkets, restaurants and of course on the dancefloor of the Noxx club that my man DJ Sake hooked us up with...

INDIANS GET CRUSHED... AGAIN

I predicted a 35 to 0 defeat against the Germans... we only lost 21 to 1. They put a young pitcher on the mound, so did we. We got some hits, so did they. They made some errors, so did we. Their whole lineup is pretty much filed with switch hitters who can really hit. They had me chasing flyballs and running down line drives all day in the gaps. Our goal was to atleast score a run and to make the game go to atleast 7 innings. We did both. I grounded out, popped out and brought in our only run with my new bat that I just bought (woooohoooo!!).
Today's our last game... We'll be playing the Hoboken Pionners representing Belgium at 6 pm today. They'll probably end up playing the Germans in tomorrows final...

ANOTHER BOOGIE NITE

While I'm in Belgium swinging the bat and catching fly balls in centerfield with my Lausanne baseball team, my Boogie Squad is holding down the fort in Switzerland. D! Club tonight, best party in town, be there BIIIIIITCHES!!!

LAUSANNE INDIANS - BASEBALL UPDATE

Ok, so we get crushed in our opening game against the Espoo Expos from Finland, we lose a close game against the Oslo Pretenders from Norway and we beat the White Sharks from Portugal 21 to 20 in a 9 inning nail-biter !!! We made 15 errors and still won. I'm happy to say that I had 4 RBIs and brought in the Game winning run. What a crazy scenario that was. We were losing by 10 points in the bottom of the 6th inning, I hit a single to right field to bring in 2 runs to avoid the merci rule (10 point spread after 7 innings = end of game) to make the game go 9 innings... long story short; we were losing 20 to 14 in the bottom of the 9th, we rally, score some more runs, I step up to the plate with a man on 3rd, score tied at 20. I hit a little chopper to 1st base on a 3 and 1 fastball to bring in our clean-up hitter, (the slowest on the team-LOL) who dives save head first from 3rd base on a fielder's choice, safe at home, we win 21 to 20!!!!

Today we're gonna get annihilated by the Mannheim Tornados from Germany...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TUPAC

I'm in my hotel room in Anvers, Belgium right now. Great setup; Nice pool, tennis courts, big room, great bed, good food but bad weather. I'm here for a week with my Lausanne Indians baseball team in the European Cup qualifications. Yeah bitches, I can still play ball!! LOL. I admit, we got our asses kicked by the Espoo Expos (Finland champions) yesterday. We're playing the Oslo Pretenders (Norway Champions) today at 2pm. There are some good players around. Great organization, Good field!! The German and Belgium teams look really solid, we'll see what happens. Anyways, I won't be blogging much this week due to my athletic responsabilities but I do have to put this Tupac video up real quick. Happy Birthday to one of the best!!! Pac would've been 38 today...RIP, see you in Thugz Mansion...

MONEY LOST IN A MATTRESS

It was supposed to be a pleasant surprise, but turned into the shock of a lifetime.

How would you like being in the middle of a dumpster, going through 2'500 tonnes of daily rubbish with your barehands? Well, that's what this lady was doing, looking for her mattress with one million$ stashed in it... you have got to read this

RONALDO TO MADRID

$131m, £80m, 94 million Euros? Choose your currency, it all adds up to Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United. That's a record breaking transfer fee that Real Madrid is willing to pay to get "le Ballon d'or 08" from Ferguson. The deal should be completed by the end of the month. If this goes through, Real Madrid will have the top 4 transfers ever (remember Zidane for 75m in 01, Kaka for 65m this week, and Figo for 61 m Euros in 2000) I just hope Ribery will be wearing the number 7 for the Red Devils in exchange. read article here

THE SECRET OF THE SKYHOOK

It's known to be the greatest offensive weapon unleashed in the NBA!!! Why is the deadliest shot a lost art? And here's what I wanna know; Why doesn't Patrick Ewing teach Dwight Howard how to do some of that... He definitely needs to step his offensive game up a couple of notches... click here to read espn article and check out the footage below of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who didn't create the hook shot but perfected it to an untouchable powermove and went on to become NBA's All-time leading scorer with 38'387 points !!!

pt 2, the Unbreakable Record:

RZA TALKES ABOUT "THE REPLICATOR"

I first heard this rumor a couple of years ago. I talked about it on my radio show and whatnot. Then a couple of months ago I hosted the Red Bull Music Academy in Geneva (where DJ A-Trak missed his plane and didn't show up for the event)... We talked about today's technology and I asked DJ Mehdi what he thought about it. He never heard about it so I e-mailed him the link, watched it again and thought I might put this up for debate's sake. This is a crazy sorry and could very well be true knowing the mind of the RZA... Big shout outs to my man Pat from Bienne. He hit me with some official documentation. He did the ressearch about this whole thing way back and actually even knows the guy RZA was talking about in the video...

PHAROAHE MONCH IN LONDON

Here's just another example of why Pharoahe Monch is one of my all time favorite MCs to ever bless a microphone. The fottage is about 6 months old but just hit the web yesterday. I can't wait for his new album to drop...

JAY-Z INTERVIEW

Here's an interview (or should I say a great recorded conversation) via Rapradar. Jay came on Hot 97 to talk to Angie Martinez after his Summer Jam Performance. He explains the whole Autotune thing, how T-Pain's appereance on stage wasn't planned, how Kanye basically gave him the whole idea to kill everything on his new track and how a coin toss can cost you an extra million dollars...

CAN'T HEAR NOTHING BUT THE MUSIC PT 6

Here we are in the month of june and Federer finally did it, he finally won his Roland -Garros!!! Someone write him a song. Lil Wayne did just that for Kobe Bryant. Plus, it looks like Kobe's gonna get his 4th ring. The Lakers are up 2-0 vs The Magic after beating them in overtime last night. (Also, check out Spike Lee's documentary I posted a couple of weeks ago called "Kobe doing Work"). Musically, I went down memory lane with DJ Soul last week. he did a great mix of Big L's best freestyles and verses. I also listened to some of the greatest "posse cuts" ever. (Marly Marl's Symphony, Wu-Tang's Protect your neck, EPMD's Headbanger, The Flava in ya Ear and LL Cool J's I shot Ya remixes). We're gonna do some specials on Downtown Boogie before the summer so be on the look out for that. I also got a link to new Mos Def album from Universal Music that I'm a check out today (shout out to Gaëtan) but basically, It's all about the new Jay Z track called "Death of the Autotune" (Also, check out yesterday's post for track and original sample).

Enjoy this weeks playlist:

Death of the Autotune - Jay-Z
When the money Goes pt2 - Fabolous feat. Jay-Z
Bitch Baby - Sa-Ra Creative Partners

NEW JAY-Z: DEATH OF AUTOTUNE (MASTERED)

Jay Z is a genius, end of story! Dope concept, dope lyrics to a dope beat by No I.D. I've listened to the radio rip version about 20 times in a row yesterday in decent quality. Here is the mastered version from Young Guru himself. I got this from Nahright who got it from YN, big up to both for their cyber hustle. I've heard that the final version might feature Drake... in the meantime, enjoy this new dose of crack...

THE BABY SAFE BALL - LOL

this is so funny, looks so real, if only this was true...

"So the baby's neck won't snap on it's way of it's skull getting thrown back and forth?"
"Exactly!"
"it looks cosy, I don't think a baby would mind being shaken in there..."
"it's soundproof and it has clowns painted on the inside..."

THE BOOGIE SQUAD @ FESTI'NEUCH

Oh man!!!! I'm at the radio right now recording next weeks shows with a headache. Yeah, we had a long night last night (don't act surprised). Anyways, we rocked the crowd last night live on the air (radio Couleur 3) after a great concert from IAM. They killed it as usual. They even did the CV track they gave us for our Invinczible album and brought us out on stage at the end of the show for their last song. Big up to my whole Marseille crew!!

VINCZ LEE DANS L'ILLUSTRE

Here's an article about my Homie Vincz Lee and his INVINCZIBLE album we produced together in one of Switzerland's biggest weekly magazines called Illustré. Time to learn french y'all...

VINCZ LEE MET LE FEU AU LAC
Figure incontournable dans le monde du hip-hop suisse, le dj genevois signe un premier album solo au générique international impressionnant. A déguster...
Qu'aucune major, parmi les compagnies de disques n'ait daigné s'accaparer a ce petit bijoud'équilibre est tout simplement désolant...
Dans The Invinczible, le hip-hop romand s'affirme sous une forme totalement décomplexée.

SOME GREAT CONAN MOMENTS

As you all know, Conan O'Brien took over the Tonight Show the other day. Here are some great Late Night moments to reminisce to. The MC Hammer backup dancer lost in the duburb area is still hilarious!

BIG L TRIBUTE MIXED BY DJ SOUL

Big L would've been 35 years old last saturday (May 30 1974-feb. 15, 1999)... R.I.P. to Lamont Coleman, one of the greatest lyricists ever. For His birthday we all get a great present. DJ Soul put together this collection of L's work including live performances, freestyles, songs, and collabos featuring some of the dopest verses you will hear in life. Huge Shoutout to DJ Soul for this and to Okayplayer for bringing this to my attention. Throw your "L" up!!

CAN'T HEAR NOTHING BUT THE MUSIC PT 5

Last week went by so quick! I didn't listen to alot of new music to tell you the truth. I was way too busy getting back into shape playing Baseball with my old Lausanne Indians team (we got the European Cup coming up in Mid June). When I wasn't taking batting practice and doing calestetics I was watching Champion's League Soccer and NBA playoffs, betting (and loosing) on Manchester UTD. I did get a chance to download the new Straight Sound Never Done reggae Mix I wanna share with you, perfect for the upcoming sunshine. Here's a list of 10 great tracks about the Big Apple (I might have to do a list for every borough cause there's way too many):

New York City - Gil Scot-Heron
New York, New York - Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five (I'll trade it in for The Message)
The place where we dwell - Gangstarr
Down in New York City - Evidence
NY State of Mind - Nas
Streets of New York - Kool G Rap
Welcome to New York City - Cam'Ron feat Jay Z
New York, New York - Ja Rule feat Fat Joe & Jadakiss
