JAM MASTER JAY R.I.P.

6 years ago, one of the greatest djs to ever touch the wheels of steel died at the age of 37... I should've put this up yesterday I know, sorry but god damn that dj made my day!!!!

So when asked who's the best, y'all should say
Run-D.M.C. and Jam Master Jay

Not only was this Hip Hop pioneer ill on the cut, but he could play the drums, the bass and the keyboard. He also founded the Scratch DJ Academy in Manhattan, established his record company (Jam Master Jay Records), worked with Onyx and 50 Cent, hooked Chuck D up with Rick Rubin and was of course, the legendary backbone of RUN DMC !

I love this new dance, just wish I had the loot to go with it...
This little video is so funny. Busta got down with Big Boy's Neighborhood and straight killed it. I don't know who I like best; The chick throwing Cheerios, the white dude in the light blue shirt getting his boogie on or the guy that gave us a belly dance...

JOE McCAIN CALLS 911

You gotta be kidding me, is Joe dumber than John?
I once called 911 to complain about my TV reception with my aluminum foil antenna not being perfect and demanded they deliver me free pizza and yellow M&M's overseas. The only difference between my emergency phone call and the one from John's McCain's brother is that I never did call 911 !!
Seriously, you gotta watch this to believe it!!

POWELL ENDORSES OBAMA

Now how about that, Colin Powell is down Barack and it's not because he's black either!!!
J-16....

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed Democrat Barack Obama for president Sunday, describing the Illinois senator as a "transformational figure." Powell said both Obama and Republican John McCain are qualified to be commander in chief. But he said Obama is better suited to handle the nation's economic problems as well as help improve its standing in the world.

JAZMINE SULLIVAN - BUST YOUR WINDOWS

This chick can sing! I feel like she's somewhere in between Lauryn Hill and Alicia Keys, whatever that means...
She's signed on J Records and you know where that will lead, to the top of the charts.... Her album was number 6 on the Billboards at one point (no 14 this week)... homegirl's got soul! Plus it's Kanye's favorite song right now.
Even though I don't have it yet get this album ASAP, it's called FEARLESS

Contemporary R&B rising star Jazmine Sullivan spent several years learning the ropes of the recording industry before signing to J Records and making her solo recording debut in 2008 with "Need U Bad." The Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter began her career at a young age, making her national television debut on Showtime at the Apollo at age 11 and signing to Jive Records at age 15. Her stint at Jive Records only lasted a couple years, however, and she was dropped by the label before any recordings were released. In the wake of this disappointment, she began working behind the scenes, for instance working with Missy Elliott on productions for Fantasia's debut album, Free Yourself (2004), and writing a couple songs for Christina Milian's third album, So Amazin' (2006), including the hit single "Say I." Sullivan was then offered a solo recording contract with J Records, which released her debut single, "Need U Bad," featuring and co-produced by Missy Elliott, in 2008. Fearless, her full-length album debut, featuring productions by Salaam Remi and Stargate, among others, was issued that September. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide

OBAMA'S MOMENT

The Democratic nominee for president talks about how George W. Bush screwed up, why John McCain turned ugly and what he's learned from Bill Clinton.

No matter what you think of Obama, it's impossible not to recognize that he represents a historic turning point in American politics — and that the momentum of the race has tilted sharply in his favor in recent weeks. Part of the shift, of course, is due to the catastrophic meltdown on Wall Street. Part of it is due to the equally impressive meltdown of John McCain: his erratic and reckless mishandling of the crisis, his desperate unleashing of the same kind of smear campaign he has long condemned. But most of the credit goes to Obama himself, to his sure-footedness as a candidate and a leader.

MICHAEL MOORE'S RESCUE PLAN

Below is an easy 10 step program from Michael Moore on how to save the economy. Interesting! Here's a caption of what he has to say:

Friends,
The richest 400 Americans -- that's right, just four hundred people -- own MORE than the bottom 150 million Americans combined. 400 rich Americans have got more stashed away than half the entire country! Their combined net worth is $1.6 trillion. During the eight years of the Bush Administration, their wealth has increased by nearly $700 billion -- the same amount that they are now demanding we give to them for the "bailout. " Why don't they just spend the money they made under Bush to
bail themselves out? They'd still have nearly a trillion dollars left over to spread amongst themselves!
I would like to propose my own bailout plan. My suggestions, listed below, are predicated on the singular and simple belief that the rich must pull themselves up by their own platinum bootstraps...

MY MLB PREDICTIONS !!

I know that pretty much anything can still happen but I just wanna say this real quick; I predict that the Red Sox will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in this year's World Series... The question is, will Manny be Manny and turn into Mr. October '08; Will Manny go yard off of Beckett and beat his old team at Fenway ?
Now, I never did get over Kirk Gibson's home run off of Echersley back in '88 and I am a Red Sox fan fo'sho but seeing Joe Torre and Don Mattingly coach Manny in blue and white against Boston will be exciting to say the least.

KIMBO GOT SLICED

Kimbo got his first black eye ever..... and it was from a white boy with pink hair!
It took Seth Petruzelli (who?) only 14 secondes to beat down the back yard bully we've all seen fight in between porn.

Check out the first short quick jab that licked him good in the eye, he never recovered....

O.J. FOUND GUILTY

The 61-year-old former football star could spend the rest of his life in prison.
O.J. was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges. He gathered up five men a year ago and stormed into a room at a hotel-casino, where the group seized several game balls, plaques and photos.
From the beginning, Simpson and his lawyers argued the incident was not a robbery, but an attempt to reclaim mementos that had been stolen from him...

V.P. DEBATE: CORDIAL BUT POINTED

Blablablablabla....
Will someone wake me up when the good stuff comes, I wanna see Johnny boy knock her out

Gov. Sarah Palin used a steady grin, folksy manner and carefully scripted talking points to punch politely and persist politically at the vice-presidential debate on Thursday night, turning in a performance that her rival, Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., sought to undermine with cordially delivered but pointed criticism.
If the issues and positions were familiar to many viewers — on taxes and the economy, energy and oil, same-sex marriage, Iraq and Afghanistan — it was Ms. Palin’s debut in a nationally televised debate that made for unusual theater. And Ms. Palin, a former small-town mayor, was unlike any other running mate in recent memory, using phrases like “heck of a lot” and “Main Streeters like me” to appeal to working-class and middle-class voters who feel abandoned by Washington.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PALIN

Sarah Palin's credentials as a "reformer" are nothing but spin. She has sided with Big Oil, lobbied to increase pork spending and abused her public power to carry out personal vendettas. A guide to separating myth from fact.

Apple Talks Tough, Threatens To Close iTunes If Royalty Rate Rises

The National Music Publisher’s Association has asked for a 66 percent increase on the royalty rate paid out on the sales of digital music — from nine cents per track to 15 cents.
Apple already pays 70 cents of each song purchase to the record companies, who aren’t willing to pay for the increase themselves. Since they would essentially be operating the service at a loss, Apple would rather shut the store down than raise their prices beyond 99 cents per track.

V.P DEBATE: WHAT TO WATCH FOR

I still don't understand how McCain isn't getting called out for his Soccer mom but that's just me, anyways...

The whole point of the debate is to see if each of these candidates is prepared to be one heartbeat from the presidency. Look at everything through that lens, from policy prescriptions to body language.
One change in the format from the presidential debate last week is that the candidates will have shorter time periods in which to speak. They will have 90 seconds each in which to answer questions from the moderator, Gwen Ifill, who will then guide a two-minute discussion on each topic. The 90 minutes is seen as a benefit to Ms. Palin, who tends to give short answers anyway, and the two minutes gives Mr. Biden room to run.
Polls show that an increasing number of people think she is not qualified to be vice president. Will she try to counteract that impression by just keeping her head down, or will she try something dramatic? Will she go after Mr. Biden, or wait to see if he goes after her first?

JOHN McCAIN THE MAKE-BELIEVE MAVERICK

A closer look at the life and career of John McCain reveals a disturbing record of recklessness and dishonesty

(OMG!! this article is amazing, below are only a couple of captions but there are so many to chose from)
big up to Rolling Stone for this one...

John Sidney McCain III and George Walker Bush both represent the third generation of American dynasties. Both were born into positions of privilege against which they rebelled into mediocrity. Both developed an uncanny social intelligence that allowed them to skate by with a minimum of mental exertion. Both struggled with booze and loutish behavior.

Few politicians have so actively, or successfully, crafted their own myth of greatness.

McCain was not only a lousy student, he had his father's taste for drink and a darkly misogynistic streak.

"He was always on probation. The only reason he graduated was because of his father and his grandfather — they couldn't exactly get rid of him."

He voted against honoring Martin Luther King Jr. with a national holiday in 1983 — a stance he held through 1989. He backed Reagan on tax cuts for the wealthy, abortion and support for the Nicaraguan contras. He sought to slash federal spending on social programs, and he voted twice against campaign-finance reform.
