A world of big egos. A world where people love to roll the dice with borrowed money. A world of tightwire trading, propelled by computers. In search of ever-higher returns — and larger yachts, faster cars and pricier art collections for their top executives — Wall Street firms bulked up their trading desks and hired pointy-headed quantum physicists to develop foolproof programs.
Chris Rock is definitely one of my all time favorites. Here's part 1 of 8 of his new HBO Special from last night called Kill the Messenger. (you can also watch the whole thing on www.ninjavideo.net)
Y'all remember what happened in july right? To make a long story short, Barack and Michelle gave each other a soul pound and people went crazy. The New Yorker put up this sarcastic and daring cover that idiots didn't get, the media ran with it and turned the Obamas into a Black Panther/Al- Qaida tag team ready to blow up the steel cage of politics...
With just five weeks left until Election Day, our favorite pundits discuss the power of Sarah Palin, why TV news is about as credible as Muzak, and whether Barack Obama is going to be ''sworn in on a gay baby''
In the midst of re-creating the controversial New Yorker cover illustration of Barack and Michelle Obama for the cover photo that graces this week's print edition of Entertainment Weekly, Jon Stewart stops briefly to pose a taste question. As he stands by the catering table in ''secret Muslim'' garb, he ponders, ''Would it be weird to be dressed like this and have a bagel, salmon, and a schmear?''
VH1 just came out with their Top 100 Greatest Hip Hop songs. I agree with alot on the list, disagree with some... (how in the world did Missy get in the top 20?) I was however, glad to see Biggie, Jay Z, Nas, ATCQ, Digital Underground, NWA, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, Geto Boys, De La Soul, Pete Rock and CL Smooth (guess which one), and, "Stan" up on that list, being one of the best lyrical concepts ever.
Anyways, you know what they say; opinions are like assholes, everyone has one!!!
Congratulaions to P.E. !!!
Here's their top 5:
1) “Fight the Power” by Public Enemy
2) “Rapper’s Delight” by Sugar Hill Gang
3) “Nuthin but a ‘G’ Thang” by Dr. Dre
4) “Walk this Way” by Run DMC and Aerosmith
5) “The Message” by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
Check out the full list and tell me what you think...
Wall Street maybe crumbling but some rock stars seem to be just fine. Now even though two thirds of the United States population can't pay their bills and the US economy smells like an outhouse, the entertainment business is still generating tons of cash...
The 10 stars on our list of the world's top-earning musicians raked in a combined $500 million between June 1, 2007 and June 1, 2008, thanks in large part to lucrative tours, endorsement contracts and all-encompassing deals.
10. Gwen Stefani- $27 Million 9. Genesis- $ 31 million 8. Van Halen- $35 million 7. Rascal Flatts- $40 million 6. Celine Dion- $40 million 5. Madonna- $40 million 4. Justin Timberlake- $44 million 3. Toby Keith- $48 million 2. Beyonce Knowles- $80 million 1. The Police- $115 million
Experts told us that this would happen.... and it's happening! Alex Jones interviews Jim Marrs, a bestselling author who gives loads of info.
They would artificially implode the debt, restrict the credit, and then "have a bailout" that basically bankrupted the people of the world to the IMF and World Bank and to the private families that own the private Federal Reserve and the IMF and World Bank... This is mass raping of the economy. This is done by design... Now, it’s been said many different ways by many different historians and people of note, philosophers, that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. And if one wants to understand the present and the future, they’d have a grasp of history because humans tend to act the same; there’s nothing new under the sun, and the same scams get developed, the same ideas, the same mindsets. And if you study the Nazis and you study Fascism in Italy and Germany, and if you learn who the players were in the United States, England and Germany, who funded the fascists and the communists, and when you read books by Carroll Quigley, the top Georgetown professor and Bill Clinton’s mentor, he explains it in a 900-page book how the big banks funded the fascists and the communists, and they created a dialectic. They control the left/right. And then you think you have a choice, but it’s a controlled choice.
WARNING!!! This is not a sketch, this guy is serious... I have decided to call this fool Mister Slingshot. Funny and scary at the same time but yet very sad! People, please wake up!!!! (check the link below to see what happened to this idiot after the interview)
Holy weinershnitzel!!! is this Die dümste bank in die welt or what? How could someone be so stupid (or genious) and put 300 million Euros into a bank that is on the verge of bankruptcy? Someone got fired that's for sure!!!!!
And here's Bill Maher interviewing Paul Krugman from the NY Times. By now, we all know that the financial system is way out of control but I like this quote here from Senator Jim Bunning that Bill mentioned: "The only difference between what the Fed did and Hugo Chavez is doing in Venuzuela is Chavez doesn't put taxpayers' Dollars at risk when he takes over companies, he just takes them"
This is from the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland this summer. I hustled my way backstage to get a piece of Erykah with my camera. We all had to take turns with our questions and as always, she was shining with beauty. I first put this up on ledge.ch but now that I have a blog...... here you go!! There's some interesting stuff. She talkes about alot of things; Lil Wayne, preforming, Hip Hop, her kids, her writting, the 4th World War, Politics and whatnot (shoutout to Pierrick)
Yes yes y'all, this is "sohh" cool! I'm proud to announce my 1st appearance on the great SOHH.COM The homie Sohh Gyant put up T.I's official track list for his new "Paper Trails" album today and noticed that the "swagga like us" track wasn't on the list. Now he was wondering why it didn't make the album. I hit him up with an e-mail telling him that it was because it'll be on Jay-Z's new album!!! From what I heard, it turned into a Jay Z track featuring Lil Wayne, Kanye and T.I. As you all know it first got leaked as a T.I. track featuring Kanye, Lil Wayne, and Jay Z. The superstar collabo made alot of noise on the internet when it leaked. T.I. was pissed and said he wanted to keep it a secret and surprise fans with this monster track. Anyways, to tell you the truth, this really doesn't surprise me knowing that Hova has already done something like this with Just Blaze's "Kingdom Come" beat and with Lil Wayne's "Hello Brooklyn". And just for the record, I love that track even though I was kinda disappointed with Jay's verse!!
WOAW!!! It's really not looking good for the good old dollar. This article makes me wanna remix a little Wu-Tang tune: "CASH RULES EVERYTHING AROUND ME C.R.E.A.M. GET THE MONEY BUT NO DOLLAR BILL Y'ALL"..... Or how about a Puffy re-remix? "IT AIN'T ABOUT THE BENJAMINS BABY..., take that, take that"
his is from an article written yesterday called "Rogers: Dollar to lose World Reserve Status" (go check out www.infowars.com and www.prisonplanet.com if you wanna feed your brain with some good stuff, thanks for the link Sebb)
Turning to the dollar, Rogers dismissed the greenback as a “flawed currency” that would continue to deteriorate for two to three decades, adding that he would seek to use the dollar’s recent rally as an opportunity to get out of the currency completely. “I do not want to own any US dollars. Also, I would not urge you to buy US dollars. (The) dollar is going to loose its status as world reserve currency,” said Rogers. “Some of the OPEC countries have already started and no longer take dollar, like Venezuela no longer accepts the dollar. Other countries are already looking and may be taking a package of basket of currencies instead of the dollar. I am not the only one who knows the dollar is in trouble. Anybody who watches the TV knows that the dollar is in trouble,” he added. Rogers also said that the bull market in oil has at least another ten years to run and that oil prices will only go higher.
I was told something like this was bound to happen soon. I'm not no finance expert, so all I can really say after reading this article is.... HOLY SHIT !!!!
The Federal Reserve and Treasury Department struggled yesterday to contain the fallout from an upheaval among the country's largest investment banks as they moved on to their next challenge -- engineering a $75 billion private rescue of the nation's largest insurance company. About $700 billion in shareholder value disappeared in a single day of trading. Wall Street's biggest shakeout since the Great Depression stems from a collapse in housing prices, which spread losses among firms that bet on securities linked to mortgages. Twice in the past year, regulators intervened to save financial firms and prevent further erosion in the housing markets. But over the weekend, officials drew the line at rescuing the storied investment bank Lehman Brothers, which yesterday filed for bankruptcy protection. We had a very, very tough day on the market," said Art Hogan, chief market analyst at Jefferies & Co. As investors digested the news, some economists worried whether Wall Street's troubles were spilling over into other parts of the economy, renewing pressure on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates when it meets today.
MySpace Music, which will replace an existing area of MySpace at music.myspace.com, represents an effort to give music lovers the kind of comprehensive online jukebox they could once only dream of. But it is also an effort to solve some of the more pressing problems of the music business.
Music companies hope the service, which weaves music through the increasingly popular world of online social networking, will weaken Apple’s dominant grip on the digital music business while helping to recoup revenue lost in the last few years as CD sales have suffered annual declines of 10 to 20 percent.
And speaking of rednecks... here's a classic moment from that classic "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" that I just can't get enough of. Of course, free of charge, enjoy
If there is one determining characteristic of this young nominee, it is that he intensely educates and redefines himself at key junctures in his life. Those who know him best say he would not be at the threshold of history today if he did not possess that ability to adapt. "Barack is still defining himself as he moves forward," said longtime mentor Gerald "Jerry" Kellman. "It's one of his great strengths. Right now, he's defining himself as who he is internationally; tomorrow it will be something else.
So what Is the Bush Doctrine anyways? Apparently it changes with time... it went from his Unilateralism/foreign policy to war on terror to preemptive war in Irak to wanting to spread America's demorcracy throughout the world...
There is no single meaning of the Bush doctrine. In fact, there have been four distinct meanings, each one succeeding another over the eight years of this administration
This chick is crazier than I thought !!!!! Here are some examples: She believes that the U.S Army is on a mission from God, she believes in punishing rape victims, and she is against clean water? WTF?... Did her brain freeze while ice fishing in her back yard? (Big up to davey D for his excellent work, check him out on www.daveyd.com)
Cancer may be caused by stem cells gone bad. If that proves to be correct, it should revolutionise treatment
MUCH of medical research is a hard slog for small reward. But, just occasionally, a finding revolutionises the field and cracks open a whole range of diseases. The discovery in the 19th century that many illnesses are caused by bacteria was one such. The unravelling of Mendelian genetics was another. It now seems likely that medical science is on the brink of a finding of equal significance. The underlying biology of that scourge of modern humanity, cancer, looks as though it is about to yield its main secret. If it does, it is possible that the headline-writer’s cliché, “a cure for cancer”, will come true over the years, just as the antibiotics that followed from the discovery of bacteria swept away previously lethal infectious diseases. read full article
More from Mister West.... Damn, he wasn't joking when he said that he hates paparazzi more than the Nazis...

"it's like a really bad Disney movie" So funny yet so true! Did she really think dinasaurs were here 4000 years ago? It's kinda crazy how people are talking way more about "Hockey Mom" than "McGrandpa" Anyways, you know who I'd vote for if I had a US passport...

GENEVA (AP) -- Scientists fired the first beam of protons around a 17-mile tunnel on Wednesday in science's next great step to understand the makeup of the universe.
Backstage is always where the magic is... Seeing Primo and Pharrell imitate Busta Rhymes is really funny Seeing Pharrell beatbox some classic Gangstarr beats and paying mad respect where respect is due is dope too but seeing those two groupies waiting to get some dick is just classic!!
Wanna see the real Bill O'Reilly? For those of you who haven't seen this classic moment and of course for those of you who already have, it never hurts to see this one again. All I can say is go easy on the sugar Billy boy, you seem kinda stressed out...

So, before I get back into my blog mode, here's one of my all-time Youtube favorites. (This is almost how I feel with my Air Port and ADSL connection that keep bugging lately)
