RZA TALKES ABOUT "THE REPLICATOR"

I first heard this rumor a couple of years ago. I talked about it on my radio show and whatnot. Then a couple of months ago I hosted the Red Bull Music Academy in Geneva (where DJ A-Trak missed his plane and didn't show up for the event)... We talked about today's technology and I asked DJ Mehdi what he thought about it. He never heard about it so I e-mailed him the link, watched it again and thought I might put this up for debate's sake. This is a crazy sorry and could very well be true knowing the mind of the RZA... Big shout outs to my man Pat from Bienne. He hit me with some official documentation. He did the ressearch about this whole thing way back and actually even knows the guy RZA was talking about in the video...

PHAROAHE MONCH IN LONDON

Here's just another example of why Pharoahe Monch is one of my all time favorite MCs to ever bless a microphone. The fottage is about 6 months old but just hit the web yesterday. I can't wait for his new album to drop...

JAY-Z INTERVIEW

Here's an interview (or should I say a great recorded conversation) via Rapradar. Jay came on Hot 97 to talk to Angie Martinez after his Summer Jam Performance. He explains the whole Autotune thing, how T-Pain's appereance on stage wasn't planned, how Kanye basically gave him the whole idea to kill everything on his new track and how a coin toss can cost you an extra million dollars...

CAN'T HEAR NOTHING BUT THE MUSIC PT 6

Here we are in the month of june and Federer finally did it, he finally won his Roland -Garros!!! Someone write him a song. Lil Wayne did just that for Kobe Bryant. Plus, it looks like Kobe's gonna get his 4th ring. The Lakers are up 2-0 vs The Magic after beating them in overtime last night. (Also, check out Spike Lee's documentary I posted a couple of weeks ago called "Kobe doing Work"). Musically, I went down memory lane with DJ Soul last week. he did a great mix of Big L's best freestyles and verses. I also listened to some of the greatest "posse cuts" ever. (Marly Marl's Symphony, Wu-Tang's Protect your neck, EPMD's Headbanger, The Flava in ya Ear and LL Cool J's I shot Ya remixes). We're gonna do some specials on Downtown Boogie before the summer so be on the look out for that. I also got a link to new Mos Def album from Universal Music that I'm a check out today (shout out to Gaëtan) but basically, It's all about the new Jay Z track called "Death of the Autotune" (Also, check out yesterday's post for track and original sample).

Enjoy this weeks playlist:

Death of the Autotune - Jay-Z
When the money Goes pt2 - Fabolous feat. Jay-Z
Bitch Baby - Sa-Ra Creative Partners
Chemical Warfare (Eminem's verse) - The Alchemist
History - Mos Def feat. Talib Kweli
Do it Again - T.I. feat. Mary J. Blige
I'm Goin' in - Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy & Drake
Harbor Masters - Ghostface, AZ & Inspectah Deck
Bête de Bombe 4 - Disiz
Shots - LMFAO feat Lil Jon

NEW JAY-Z: DEATH OF AUTOTUNE (MASTERED)

Jay Z is a genius, end of story! Dope concept, dope lyrics to a dope beat by No I.D. I've listened to the radio rip version about 20 times in a row yesterday in decent quality. Here is the mastered version from Young Guru himself. I got this from Nahright who got it from YN, big up to both for their cyber hustle. I've heard that the final version might feature Drake... in the meantime, enjoy this new dose of crack...

THE BABY SAFE BALL - LOL

this is so funny, looks so real, if only this was true...

"So the baby's neck won't snap on it's way of it's skull getting thrown back and forth?"
"Exactly!"
"it looks cosy, I don't think a baby would mind being shaken in there..."
"it's soundproof and it has clowns painted on the inside..."

THE BOOGIE SQUAD @ FESTI'NEUCH

Oh man!!!! I'm at the radio right now recording next weeks shows with a headache. Yeah, we had a long night last night (don't act surprised). Anyways, we rocked the crowd last night live on the air (radio Couleur 3) after a great concert from IAM. They killed it as usual. They even did the CV track they gave us for our Invinczible album and brought us out on stage at the end of the show for their last song. Big up to my whole Marseille crew!!

VINCZ LEE DANS L'ILLUSTRE

Here's an article about my Homie Vincz Lee and his INVINCZIBLE album we produced together in one of Switzerland's biggest weekly magazines called Illustré. Time to learn french y'all...

VINCZ LEE MET LE FEU AU LAC
Figure incontournable dans le monde du hip-hop suisse, le dj genevois signe un premier album solo au générique international impressionnant. A déguster...
Qu'aucune major, parmi les compagnies de disques n'ait daigné s'accaparer a ce petit bijoud'équilibre est tout simplement désolant...
Dans The Invinczible, le hip-hop romand s'affirme sous une forme totalement décomplexée.

SOME GREAT CONAN MOMENTS

As you all know, Conan O'Brien took over the Tonight Show the other day. Here are some great Late Night moments to reminisce to. The MC Hammer backup dancer lost in the duburb area is still hilarious!

BIG L TRIBUTE MIXED BY DJ SOUL

Big L would've been 35 years old last saturday (May 30 1974-feb. 15, 1999)... R.I.P. to Lamont Coleman, one of the greatest lyricists ever. For His birthday we all get a great present. DJ Soul put together this collection of L's work including live performances, freestyles, songs, and collabos featuring some of the dopest verses you will hear in life. Huge Shoutout to DJ Soul for this and to Okayplayer for bringing this to my attention. Throw your "L" up!!

CAN'T HEAR NOTHING BUT THE MUSIC PT 5

Last week went by so quick! I didn't listen to alot of new music to tell you the truth. I was way too busy getting back into shape playing Baseball with my old Lausanne Indians team (we got the European Cup coming up in Mid June). When I wasn't taking batting practice and doing calestetics I was watching Champion's League Soccer and NBA playoffs, betting (and loosing) on Manchester UTD. I did get a chance to download the new Straight Sound Never Done reggae Mix I wanna share with you, perfect for the upcoming sunshine. Here's a list of 10 great tracks about the Big Apple (I might have to do a list for every borough cause there's way too many):

New York City - Gil Scot-Heron
New York, New York - Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five (I'll trade it in for The Message)
The place where we dwell - Gangstarr
Down in New York City - Evidence
NY State of Mind - Nas
Streets of New York - Kool G Rap
Welcome to New York City - Cam'Ron feat Jay Z
New York, New York - Ja Rule feat Fat Joe & Jadakiss
New York (Ya out there) - Rakim
New York Shit - Busta Rhymes feat Swizz Beatz

DAMIEN WALTERS

This guy is absolutely amazing, end of story!!!!!
